best approximations and embeddings of classes of periodic single and multivariable functions, calculation and estimate of widths of classes of functions and finite-dimentional sets, elementary mathematics.

  • author of about 120 scientific publications, including 7 books on eextremal problems theory, as well as of textbooks for MSU entrants.

Elfat Mikhailovich Galeev was born on 19.03.1952 in village Chur of Iak-Bodinskii region of Udmurtian Soviet Socialist Republic. After accomplishing his post-graduate studies in 1977 he was taken on the staff of the departmetn of general problems of control. In 1978 he defended is Ph.D. thesis and in 1993 - his doctoral thesis "Approximation of classes of periodic multivariable functions". He has been a professor of the department since 1998. E.M. Galeev reads basic courses of the department, "Calculus of variations and optimal control", "Convex analysis", special courses "Second order conditions in extremal problems", "Methods of optimisation", "Linear programming", "Approximation of periodic multivariable functions".
